ATTORNEY PROFILE

Michelle Estlund earned her bachelor’s degree from the Florida State University in 1992, with a double major in Psychology and Criminology. She earned her law degree from Stetson University College of Law in 1995.

While working towards her law degree, Ms. Estlund served as a student law clerk in Middle District of Florida. She also obtained an internship at the former Florida House of Representatives Criminal Justice Committee, where she focused on issues involving racially motivated traffic stops, juvenile justice issues, and civil asset forfeiture.

Ms. Estlund settled in Miami in 1995 where she began practicing law. She has practiced both civil and criminal law, and since 1997 has dedicated her practice entirely to the defense of persons accused of crimes. She is a former Assistant Public Defender with the nationally recognized Law Offices of the Public Defender for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida. While at the Public Defender’s Office, she handled criminal cases at every level from juvenile to first degree felonies and trained new attorneys in the handling of their cases, particularly with respect to non-bondable offenses punishable by life imprisonment.
